Arming Enemies; Betraying Allies

As the first shipment of "top of the line" weapons, armored vehicles and other military materials worth $25 million arrived in Lebanon on Sunday, it appeared the Obama administration was once again arming our enemies and betraying our allies (see below).

This initial shipment is part of the assistance promised by the US to the Lebanese Armed Forces, in order to combat Sunni terrorists.

And how does the US ensure that such sophisticated weaponry doesn't fall into the hands of Hezbollah, the Shiite Iranian proxy and terrorist group that occupies Lebanon's south? Especially since there have been reports the Lebanese army and Hezbollah have attempted to combine forces in order to attack neighboring Israel?

The answer to that would be, the US cannot ensure or make any such promises. Nor does it appear inclined to, judging from past reports of CIA involvement with Hezbollah.

So while the US government will NOT send the Kurds fighting ISIS anti-tank weapons, it has no problem sending 70 Howitzer cannons, 26 million rounds of ammunition including small, medium and heavy artillery rounds, humvees, M1 Abrams tanks, M113 armored personnel carriers and other "top of the line weapons" to Armed Forces that collaborate with Hezbollah.

Obama Arming Hezbollah To Fight Al-Qaida In Lebanon

For years the United States recognized the power of the terrorist group Hezbollah that controls large areas in Lebanon with an army-sized network of Shi'ite jihadists. However, beginning on Sunday President Barack Obama's first shipment of weapons, armored vehicles and other military materials arrived in Lebanon. This initial shipment had been promised to the Lebanese military in order to combat Sunni terrorists, according to a report from the U.S. Embassy.

Lebanon's army, while always avoiding conflict with Iranian-sponsored Hezbollah, has been in armed conflict with jihadists from the al-Qaida linked al-Nusra Front and the notorious Islamic State of Iraq and Syria since Summer 2014 when the terrorist crossed the border Syrian-Lebanese border and invaded the Lebanese town of Arsal, according to Jeff Speigel, a former U.S. police advisor who has worked in the Middle East.

According to Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA), the Lebanese military received 70 Howitzer cannons, a medium-sized, towed artillery piece, and 26 million rounds of ammunition. In their own press statement, officials at the U.S. Embassy in the Lebanese capital of Beirut said the shipment is worth $25 million.

"This is top of the line equipment, the best that is on the market. It is what our soldiers use, and we’re proud to know that very soon, your brave soldiers will be using it too, along with other U.S.-supplied equipment, to defeat the terrorist and extremist threat from Syria," said the Embassy officials. But many believe the weapons will eventually fall into the hands of Hezbollah to be used against the Israeli people.

Both Hezbollah and al-Qaida advocate the total annihilation of Israel and both present a clear and present danger to the Jewish people, according to Speigel, who is now a private security director. "While Obama ponders whether or not to arm the Ukrainian military who are up against [Vladimir] Putin's forces, he was perfectly will to turn over weapons to a regime that kowtows to an Iranian-linked terrorist group, Hezbollah," Speigel added.

In fact, the NNA announced a special even being held on Tuesday, with leaders from Lebanon and Iran meeting to celebrate the toppling of the Shah of Iran and the takeover of the government by Islamists in 1979. That was also the date that the American embassy was attacked and the Americans were taken hostage.

"Support for the Lebanese military remains a top priority for the United States. Recent attacks against Lebanon's army only strengthen America's resolve to stand in solidarity with the people of Lebanon to confront these threats," the embassy officials said.

Although U.S. diplomats claim that Obama is providing Lebanon with "top of the line weapons" for its anti-terrorist campaigns, it failed to differentiate between al-Qaida and ISIS Sunnis and Hezbollah Shi'ites, both of whom pose threats to Israel and the United States. "The House Homeland Security Committee reported years ago that Hezbollah and Iranian intelligence officers were active in Central and South America, but apparently Obama and his minions don't believe they are a threat or they don't care if they are a threat to our nation," said former NYPD detective and military intelligence operative Larry J. O'Donnell.

Also according to NNA, France's Foreign Minister told Lebanon's Prime Minister that their first cache of French weaponry will be shipped April. Also, the Saudi Kingdom said that it would give the Lebanese government $3 billion (U.S.) to buy weapons and equipment from France. "The problem with these deals is that many of the weapons and equipment will end up in the hands of Hezbollah. And Hezbollah may actually ship some of them to Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad and other terrorists operating in Gaza and the Sinai Peninsula," said O'Donnell.
