Some Quick "Updates"

September 27, 2011

Just a few quick updates, folks (and some good wishes):

♦ Remember our good friend Erdogan, ya know, the (Islamist) Turkish PM whom the Obama administration just inked a deal with to sell them Predator drones? Well, check out good ol’ Erdogan’s latest brainfart:

"UN should impose sanctions on Israel like Iran": In an interview with TIME, Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan criticized the UN for leveling sanctions on Iran and Sudan, while avoiding implementing trade measures against Israel - a move, Erdogan said, could have helped solved the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Story here.

♦ In related news, check out my favorite Quote of the Day:

"If I wanted to improve Israeli hasbara [advocacy], I would buy media outlets around the world and have Erdogan talk from morning until night.~ Israeli FM Avigdor Lieberman, on Turkish PM's accusations against Israel in media interviews during UN General Assembly in NYStory here.

♦ Bravo to the new annual ritual at Cesspool Central (aka the UN), where a few members of the so-called civilized world muster some courage and ...Drumroll please... walk out on Ahmadinejad’s speech!  Story here.

♦ And regarding that phobia (definition: “an abnormal intense and irrational fear of a given situation, organism, or object”), which CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) and other Islamic groups love to accuse us all of, check out “Sharia Vigilante Street Justice in America” and the picture below. It’s not a pretty picture, but it begs the question: So where’s the “irrational” (i.e., phobic) part of Islamophobia?

♦ Finally, in other news, Palestinian detainees in Israel prisons begin a hunger strike to protest an end to the solitary confinement of PFLP (Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine) leader Ahmad Saadat. And with that, we’d like to wish the protestors the best of luck, and urge them to never give up!  Story here.
