Our Own Little Sewer System
March 8, 2011
As "Israel Apartheid Week" kicked off Monday on college campuses, in support of boycotts, divestment and sanctions (BDS) against Israel, the one and only democracy in the Middle East, the group NGO Monitor has announced the "BDS Sewer System," which provides detailed information on the sources of funding behind the delegitimization campaigns against Israel (more here).
Sewer system is right. As for the contents of that sewer seeping into and being absorbed on our college campuses (i.e., our so-called institutions of higher learning), note that what we are witnessing today is ignorance in action. And as Martin Luther King Jr. once said, "nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity."
[p.s. As I read about this BS, er BDS, I couldn't help but remember that music video by LATMA, which is a great parody of these human rights/peace activist types. Watch video below.]

Notable Quotables
"It was the Palestinian mob that prevented Abu Akleh’s funeral from progressing to the church by hearse as the family had wanted. It was the mob that took the body without authorization, which forced Israeli Police to intervene with force to have them return the body to the hospital. Once returned, the body was transported to the church in the hearse under Israeli protection according to plan."
~ Itamar Marcus, Founder and Director of Palestinian Media Watch, on the hijacking of Shireen Abu Akleh's funeral (more here).
