Musical Clarification

May 23, 2011

Please, folks, no more articles/emails parsing President Obama's latest stink bomb (i.e., his speech on Friday about U.S. policy in the Middle East) or about the applause/standing ovation he got from the AIPAC crowd as he "walked back", "clarified" or "disinfected" said speech.

Confused about what Obama meant to say? Well, this song should shed some light....

Hitler Would Approve

May 19, 2011

In his address today on U.S. policy in the Middle East (to the extent one can call President Obama’s Tourett’s-like utterings “policy”), Mr. Obama said that borders of a "sovereign, non-militarized" Palestinian state "should be based on 1967 lines [aka Auschwitz lines] with mutually agreed swaps."

I can’t help but wonder if Mr. Obama knows what a "sovereign, non-militarized" state is, much less whether or not Israel should sacrificially shrink itself in order to create one next door. What would Mr. Obama do when the faux “non-militarized state” militarized itself up the wazoo???

PM Netanyahu should tell Mr. Obama to clean up the mess on his own border before he offers useless advice to Israel. Whether or not Netanyahu actually does that depends on the decibel level of applause (and number of standing ovations) Obama gets when he speaks to the AIPAC crowd this weekend.

[Please, folks, no more emails asking me how the American Jewish community could do that, i.e., invite Mr. Obama to their pro-Israel conference, much less give him a big round of applause?! As many of you should know by now, that community bewilders me as much as it bewilders you.]

Bipartisan Bozos

May 12, 2011

Why is NSR non-partisan? Because the Republicans offer up bozos like the two mentioned below, and the Democrats offer up disasters like the one we have in the White House today.

♦ "Ron Paul Wouldn't Have Approved Osama Bin Laden Operation." (Story here)

♦ "John McCain to Bush apologists: Stop lying about Bin Laden and torture." (Story here)

We nominate Forrest Gump for President.

We Interrupt The Victory Laps ...

May 9, 2011

We interrupt the self-congratulatory victory laps of our Commander-in-Chief (and his administration) on the killing of Osama bin Laden, to bring you the latest on the so-called "freedom" riots happening across the Middle East.

In Egypt, deadly "sectarian" (read: between Muslims and Christians) clashes rage on, as we await the Obama administration's, and the Christian world's, reaction to the wholesale slaughter of Christians at the hands of Muslim "freedom-fighters" (story here).

In Syria, Hillary Clinton's favorite reformer (i.e., Syrian dictator Bashir Assad) is rolling tanks into Syrian cities, and using soccer stadiums as makeshift prisons (in house-to-house raids across the country, Syrian security forces burst into homes today and took hundreds of residents into custody). Story here.

President Obama's poll ratings have soared following the killing of Osama bin Laden, because he made the right decision. Well, Isn't that what a President is supposed to do, i.e., make the right decisions (hopefully more than once)?

New Doctrine?

April 29, 2011

Obama may be moving toward something resembling a doctrine. One of his advisers described the president's actions in Libya as 'leading from behind.'  ~ Ryan Lizza, the New Yorker, May 2 issue

In an op-ed yesterday, Charles Krauthammer wrote: "To be precise, leading from behind is a style, not a doctrine.

Potatoe--potahto, tomatoe--tomahto (doctrine--style), frankly, it's all means the same to me. However, the one thing we can agree on is that "leading from behind" is just another way of saying horse's ass.
